New instructions for carts wishing to go onto Midsomer Norton Carnival 2011

Tractors and towing vehicles wishing to go straight on to Midsomer Norton after Shepton Carnival now have permission to PARK IN WEBBER CLOSE, an area will be provided for you.

The procession will start at the entrance to Mendip District Council Offices, and end at number 40 Whitstone Road. The dismount area is, after the traffic island, in Whitstone Road, opposite Webber Road, which is the Tadley Acres entrance. All carts can then return back to where they lined up, ready to move on to Wells. However carts for Midsomer Norton must break down in Whitstone Road beyond Webber Close as instructed by our Marshal, then turn left at the ``Flock Roundabout’’ and proceed to Midsomer Norton via Fosse Lane. (Note Midsomer Norton Floats only)
There is an indicated NEW ``Rest Area’’ which starts at the traffic lights Commercial Road and ends at the church in Paul Street. The procession must not stop, but carry on at the set speed.

After the Carnival you will be escorted by the police to Wells. Please do not uncouple in Cannards Grave Road. The only place to uncouple (if you must) is by the nearside of the road before the Ambulance Station, where it is flat and under street lighting. You can then collect your spare tractor(s) and service vehicles from the show ground, and uncouple quickly. The other carts can then pass on the right side and not stop the flow heading to Wells.
